Η ΤΕΡΝΑ ιδρύθηκε το 1972 και από τότε δραστηριοποιείται εντατικά στην ανάληψη και εκτέλεση ενός ευρύτατου φάσματος Δημόσιων και Ιδιωτικών έργων, μεγάλου προϋπολογισμού και σύνθετης τεχνογνωσίας, όπως οδικά και σιδηροδρομικά δίκτυα, λιμάνια, κτίρια, νοσοκομεία, μουσεία, βιομηχανικές εγκαταστάσεις, υδροηλεκτρικά έργα, φράγματα, κ.λ.π.
Η ΤΕΡΝΑ αποτελεί σήμερα την κατασκευαστική Εταιρεία του Ομίλου ΓΕΚ ΤΕΡΝΑ. Η ισχυρή και αποτελεσματική οργανωτική της δομή της εξασφαλίζει κυρίαρχη παρουσία σε σημαντικούς τομείς επιχειρηματικής δράσης.
