The project concerns the construction of the north section of the Central Greece Motorway.

The Trikala–Egnatia section, with a total length of 70.5 km, includes:

• 6 junctions (Vassiliki, Kalampaka, Grevena, Oxynia, Ayofyllo – Karpero and Egnatia)
• 2 additional tunnels
• 17 bridges
• 10 upper and 43 lower passages and 3 either-side parking & rest areas.
• 89 box culverts and fauna passages
• 2 truck service stations (Raxa Trikala, Ayofyllo – Karpero),
• a front toll checkpoint (at Oxyneia)) and 3 side toll checkpoints (Trikala, Kalabaka, Ayofyllo – Karpero junctions)
• 2 Control & Maintenance Centres (Trikala, Ayofyllo – Karpero)
• 1 traffic management & tunnel control centre and 
• 1 traffic patrol building
