GEK TERNA Group, through a €2.5 million donation, completed the full reconstruction of the Nea Penteli Indoor Sports Hall, which has once again—already for several months—become a destination for sports and physical activity for children and young people in the area. In August 2024, a devastating wildfire completely destroyed the facility, leaving hundreds of children without a place to train and exercise. Responding to the need and in close cooperation with the Municipal Authority, TERNA, the construction arm of the GEK TERNA Group, assumed in full both the cost and the restoration works of the Indoor Sports Hall.

Within just a few months, TERNA delivered a state-of-the-art sports facility, which has already become a “second home” for the area’s youth.

The Penteli Indoor Sports Hall is now among the most modern indoor arenas in Attica, featuring a latest-generation parquet floor, modern electronic equipment, a complete LED lighting system, air conditioning, and a high-specification sound system. As stated by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GEK TERNA, George Peristeris, within essentially six months the Group completed the creation of a new, modern, and safe sports facility, to which children from the area have already returned. “We feel proud to have once again stood by society, fulfilling our duty.”
