Waste Treatment Plant in Epirus arrow right

It is a model project, state-of-the-art, with many benefits for the environment and citizens, which has been named “Infrastructure Project of 2018”. It is a model of public-private partnership that demonstrates the effectiveness of cooperation between Public Authorities and private initiative. The project definitively solves for the next 25 years the problem of waste management in the Region of Epirus, as it can be adapted with relative ease to future European Directives and Greek legislation. The investment amounts to EUR 52.6 million.

From the waste processed by the Epirus Waste Treatment Plant:

• At least 17,000 tonnes of useful materials are recycled every year. In this way, it contributes to the achievement of the national recycling targets.

• 10,800 kilowatts of green energy are produced every year, capable of meeting the needs of 3,000 families and saving 12,000 tn/year of carbon dioxide

• 25,000 tonnes of compost produced per year

Integrated Waste Management of the Peloponnese Region arrow right

This is the largest waste management PPP project in the country, which implements the largest part of the Regional Waste Management Plan (WMP) of the Peloponnese, while it operates in parallel and complementary to the Local Recycling at Source Plans of the Municipalities. The contract of the project “Integrated Waste Management of the Peloponnese Region” provides for the construction and operation of three Waste Treatment Plants (WTP) and an equal number of Landfills in Arcadia, Messinia and Laconia, as well as two Waste Transfer Stations (WTS) in Corinthia and Argolida. It is also designed to produce green energy, making it an environmental infrastructure with a zero energy footprint. It is also expected to reduce the cost of waste management for municipalities while preventing the possibility of fines.

The implementation of the project using cutting-edge technology solves the environmental problem of the Peloponnese Region, with obvious benefits for Tourism, Education and the new quality Agriculture, which is a strategic goal for the country.
