The sub-concession agreement for the utilization of the ‘Filippos B’ port of the Kavala Port Authority (OLK S.A.) for 40 years, in which GEK TERNA participates in the consortium includes:
- The existing quay with a paved area of approximately 117,000 sq.m.,
- An additional unpaved area under rehabilitation of approximately 165,000 sq.m.,
- The detached pier/ breakwater,
- Commercial activities (general cargo, dry bulk cargo, and occasional container handling), and
- Specific items of the existing port equipment.
With the commencement of the sub-concession, the commercial port “Philippos II” embarks on a new era of development, as significant investments for the upgrade of its operational capabilities will be implemented, resulting to benefits for the local community and economy.
