Mr. Georgios Peristeris is the Chairman and CEO of GEK TERNA Group, and the Chairman of TERNA ENERGY S.A. Born in Athens in 1957, received his degree in Civil Engineering in 1980 from the National Technical University of Athens. His professional involvement with TERNA S.A. began in the early 1980s and from 1982 to 1984 he was the Construction Director of major construction projects. In 1984 he became Chairman and CEO of TERNA S.A., and since then the construction company has evolved into a diverse Group. Major achievements throughout his career include:
* 1993: Listing of TERNA S.A. on the Athens Stock Exchange.
* 1997: TERNA ENERGY S.A. is founded and activity in the energy production sector begins.
* 1999: The merger of GEK and TERNA forms the GEK TERNA Group.
* 2003: HERON THERMOELECTRIC S.A. is established. Implementation of the first private thermoelectric power plant in Greece. The establishment of HERON II follows.
Mr. Peristeris is also the Chairman of the Hellenic Association of Electricity Producers from Renewable Energy Sources (HELASRES) and a BoD member of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises.
