The New Heraklion International Airport in the area of Kastelli will replace the existing airport and will be constructed according to a set of technical and operational specifications in order to meet current and future traffic needs.

Project timetable

• Contractual Concession Period: 35 years from the Concession Start Date (February 2020) and includes the Design-Build Period.
• Contractual duration of the Design-Build Period: up to (60) months from the Concession Start Date.

Airport Company at the Concession Start Date: – Hellenic State (45,90%) – TERNA S.A. (32,46%) – GMR Airports Ltd (21,64%)
Constructor: TERNA SA (100%).
